Data sources
Where the catalog comes from.
ScreenTrak displays show, movie, and anime information supplied by third-party providers under their own licenses. We don't own that metadata or artwork — and your watch history is never theirs. Here's exactly how it works.
How ScreenTrak handles provider data
Permanent internal IDs
Every show, season, and episode gets an immutable ScreenTrak ID. Provider IDs are stored as mappings — never as database primary keys — so your history survives provider changes.
Providers are replaceable adapters
Catalog data is normalized into provider-neutral records with source, license, and modification notices attached at the field level.
Everything runs server-side
Provider APIs are called from ScreenTrak's server. API credentials are never embedded in or exposed to the app on your phone.
Your history is your data
Watch history, Library, and progress are ScreenTrak user data — they're never represented as provider-owned, and providers never receive your email or viewing history.
Rights are tracked separately
Metadata rights and artwork rights are documented independently. A provider removal or valid takedown can disable an image or catalog snapshot without touching anyone's history.
Attribution & credits
TVmaze
ACTIVE TODAYTV and anime data and images are provided by TVmaze under CC BY-SA 4.0. ScreenTrak normalizes titles, statuses, episode numbering, and artwork references into its own permanent records; search results and exports retain source, license, and modification notices. TVmaze does not endorse ScreenTrak, and its schedule data is not a promise that a show is streamable in your country.
TheTVDB
ACTIVE TODAYMovie metadata is provided by TheTVDB. Permanent ScreenTrak IDs and field-level provenance are kept regardless of provider. Please consider adding missing information or subscribing to TheTVDB. TheTVDB images are not used unless ScreenTrak obtains separate written permission to display them.
TMDB
NOT ENABLEDTMDB is not currently used to serve the app in any deployed environment. ScreenTrak is applying for commercial access for movie and television metadata and images; if that is granted and enabled, this product will use TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB.
Infrastructure & type
Authentication and database by Supabase; API hosting by Render; traffic protection by Cloudflare. Typefaces: Instrument Sans and Space Grotesk, served via Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License.
Artwork keeps its provider provenance and is subject to takedown handling — ScreenTrak never labels provider artwork as its own, and uses an owned placeholder when permitted artwork is unavailable. A valid takedown can disable an image or catalog snapshot without deleting anyone's history; requests go to the Copyright & takedowns page. Poster artwork in this site's previews is TV & anime provided by TVmaze (CC BY-SA 4.0), plus public-domain classic films via Wikimedia Commons. Provider metadata never grants streaming-availability rights. How your personal data is handled is on the Privacy page.
